click for larger Blog Blog Blog! How do you like me, how do like me? Blog Blog Blog! Why don't you like me? Nobody likes me! [The Moe Szyslak Connection]. Thanks to Mikey for the pic on the left (click to enlarge), I feel that its raises a few important issues which need to be discussed.
The last week or so at work I've been converting our applications from Visual Studio 2003 to Visual Studio 2005. It has been going well, most of the work has been replacing the now obsolete method calls to use the new ones. One of the most useful but at the same time useless tools we are starting to use is MSbuild. The great thing about it is from the command line you just go:
msbuild mysolution.sln /property:Config=Release
this will build you a release version of your solution (very useful for nightly builds). The annoying thing about it is that it will not build vdproj files meaning no easy way to build MSI's from the command line, perhaps I'll be looking to WiX for this.
After putting it off for a while I finally brought a new car. Next month I'll be modifying it more to suit my needs, I've gotta lower it, add a big bore exhaust system and convert the double overhead cam. I'm not sure exactly what all this means, but I've been informed that I will be needing this.
I've just added www.sitemeter.com to the site, it's a great free stats system which supplies a surprisingly large amount of useful information, and you can see an example here.
While on the topic of this site, I think I'll be doing a small makeover this long weekend nothing too major though.

Bloggin' fo' Bling A post on Problogger caught my eye:
"By the way - just saw Jeremy posted about his eMiniMall earnings - $700 for the month of October is pretty good seeing as his blog isn?t a product related blog. Congratulations mate."
Earning 700$ from a non product related blog seems like a hell of a lot to me.
So being quite the sinister person I instantly thought 'SYMPATHY' Clicks! By this I didn't mean that people feel sorry for him and just click to help this poor blogger out, quite the contrary. I more meant people whom are a fan of the blog, know that the author makes income from the blog so they click on the ads as they feel they owe him something and not because they are genuinely interested in the advert.
Unlike other thoughts this stuck in my head for more than a few seconds so I decided to post a comment on Darren's post and get his thoughts. I got some good feedback from Darren and his posters were quick to write the idea off.
While I believe Darren and Co. that most of the money comes though search engines and not regular readers, it still doesn't dismiss the idea completely out of my mind. Being a web publisher (albeit very very small time) with ads on my site, when I visit someone else's site and I see their ads I sometimes think "Why not click on their ads, help 'em out, I know what it's like, hopefully people will do the same to me, get some sort of anonymous clicking gang thing going on", luckily this thought is usually dismissed when I realize that this is only going to hurt me rather than help me, no one wants clicks becoming worthless, another internet bubble bursting anyone?
I hope that 'Sympathy Clicks' are a very small percentage and if your thinking of clicking one of my ads to spite me, well don't!!!
In other news I added a review of Madvillain - Madvillainy.

I saw you at the checkout line. Looks like google ran their page ranking over the weekend, I've gone from 1/10 to 4/10 which is more than I had hoped for, In celebration I've added a new movie 'The Silent Flute' to the Wu-Tang Kung Fu section and uploaded version 0.55 of Simple Review, so this one's dedicated to all the ladies in the front , the back all the older ladies out there lookin' nice, you know who you are....
I got 4 new cds this week:
- Dreddy Krueger Presents...Think Differently Music: Wu-Tang Meets the Indie Culture
- Blackalicious - The Craft
- Kool Keith - Lost Masters Volume 2
- Danger Doom - The Mouse and the Mask
Haven't had much chance to listen to them in depth but hopefully I could write a review on them soon...
Money making, revenge and extortion.

Feeling is a paradise. K K K K Kool Keith. Theres a new untitlted Kool Keith track available from Liveone records, if you haven't all ready download Execution One which has Keith rapping over other people beats (e.g Busta Rhmymes) and another track call Hurricanes can be found on Jacky Jaspers Myspace.
If you ever want to see a movie about a dogman learning to love life through playing the piano then I would highly recommend going and seeing Jet Li's latest movie 'Unleashed'. But if your more like me and would rather see a martial arts movie then I would highly recommend not going and seeing it as its a pile of whimpy whampy friendship soaked crap. Most of the movie is spent with Mr Li learning the piano instead of killing people...boring!
In dork news I've been trying to install Kubuntu/Ubuntu on a(n) USB 2.0 external hard drive on my shuttle ST20G5. Quite a misson, after getting it to boot it would freeze while 'Starting Hotplug System' because of my sound card, after fixing that it's now stuck on 'Checking Battery State' which is interesting as I have no battery...It would be nice to get this going.
Looking at website stats August was the busiest month on record since statistics were started for this site in 2001, August came in with 19,338 requests for pages. Seems ok too me and looking at the stats a lot of it is comming from forums that I moderate or visit such as:
Hopefully this will help increase my google page rank (currently 1/10), google is supposidly updating page ranks soon.
Taking a note from Simeon's blog I looked at the search results which bring people to the site, some of the top ones are:
- Girl - 5045 hits
- Party - 4801 hits
- Charlies Angles - 720 hits (wtf I dont think I've ever even seen this)
- Porn - 279 hits
- Hippit (is this a word?) - 270 hits
There seems to be something most seedy about this site.
A guy like me would rather smell Vics.

In todays modern world of virtual npc, volunteering at the animal shelter, hanging around with friends talking about politics and keeping up with the latest trends in gothic fashion, its hard to find time to spend searching for a suitable woman to do the romance with. To solve this problem I have come up with a crack team of info-bots to trawl the internet for babes and show me a powerpoint presentation of there findings. This is what they came up with:
Icy Fresh Nipples Bacherlorette Number 1. This fabulous babe, who we will refer to from now on as ?rachello? for privacy reasons, hails from Brisbane Australia. Don?t be fooled by the beautiful picture though, this lass isn?t all flat chests and outrageous footwear, she also has her disadvantages. Although she is in the very attractive employment field of Retail / Consumer/Personal Services, her political persuasion is ?not specified? and her education level is only ?high school?. Rachello is only looking for friendship with a male of female which makes her Bacherlorette status, illegitimate.
 Proven Success Bachelorette Number 2.
This straight shooting lass from Sydney has a lot going for her. Forestsunshine who will be referred to as ?Betty? from now on, has the enviable status of widow. That always gets the blokes queueing up round the corner. Her culinary skills extend to the unbridled corners of the recipe book, such as the date scone section, and the highly sought after dessert cakes section. She is willing to settle for less and has children aged between 31 and 34 years old. The ?no special diet? Anglican swinging voter is looking for a man between 58 and 70 who lives close to the forest. Betty says she?s not afraid to don the white jersey and red lippy for a tequila fuelled night on the town with the boys. All in all, the info-bots rated betty an A+ kind of gal.
This ground breaking work the info-bots have done goes to show, trawling for babes in cyberspace is a very lucrative business.
