We (New Zealand Tall Blacks) just lost our 3rd straight game at the 2006 FIBA World Championship in Japan, after finishing 4th in 2002 (ahead of the 6th placed USA team).
Perhaps these loses could of been avoided if FIBA weren't such idiots.
Earlier this month Mark Dickel (our key point guard) missed two games against Qatar due to a suspension for testing positive for cannabis last month.
FIBA decided (link 1, link 2) hours before New Zealand's first game against Spain that he would be banned for a further 3 games.
Perhaps FIBA themselves were high on skunk when they dished out the additional punishment, I have never heard of cannabis enhancing any one's game, especially leaving it until the last minute to announce it.
Hopefully we can win are next two games against Japan and Panama.
